How the United Kingdom → Spain route works
Your belongings are packed and loaded at your UK home, then cross to the continent by the Channel Tunnel or a short ferry, or by a direct ferry to northern Spain.
Customs formalities are completed for the UK export and the Spanish import, then your truck continues to your new home.
The Balearic Islands are reached by ferry from the mainland. The Canary Islands have their own customs and tax regime: tell us at quote stage.
Customs from the UK to Spain
Your used household goods can enter Spain free of import duty and VAT under transfer of residence relief if you have lived outside the EU for at least 12 consecutive months, owned your belongings for at least 6 months, and import them within 12 months of becoming resident in Spain.
Goods for a holiday home do not qualify. Alcohol and tobacco are excluded and taxed.
